About this event

Wednesday, May 20, 2026, 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM

It’s finally here! The long-awaited joint WIT-NC and PAEI follow-up program in response to the 2019 PAEI/WIT-NC program on sanctions and export controls screening in 2019. Much has changed, so this event will be a deep dive on due diligence and screening across the trade compliance organization.

Regulatory requirements have expanded: From an export perspective, the government has leaned into its use of restricted party lists, including the looming enforcement of the BIS Affiliates Rule. OFAC has brought significant enforcement cases involving its 50% rule, and there is increased focus on diversion of mass market electronics for military end-use. Agency expectations for the exercise of reasonable care and “know your customer” continue to increase. From an import perspective, there has been a rise in UFLPA enforcement and an expectation to have visibility across your supply chain in other unprecedented ways.

Tools and techniques available to address these challenges have also changed, including expanded availability of enhanced due diligence information from service providers and of artificial intelligence tools.

This seminar will focus on benchmarking and best practices relating to the challenges companies face vetting their supply chains and screening for dealings with embargoed destinations and restricted parties. It is intended for experienced practitioners, who are looking to “up their game” in an area of critical compliance importance.

The afternoon session will consist of four panel discussions led by experienced in-house trade compliance personnel, consultants, and attorneys. We will then transition to dinner, with featured dinner speaker, Matt Bell.
