February 2012 - Joni Seeber
My name is Joni Seeber, and I have been a WIT-NC member and volunteer since 2010. I found out about WIT-NC at a brown bag lunch with Beth Peterson the year before at The Monterey Institute of International Studies while studying international trade policy. After graduation, I joined WIT-NC's fundraising committee with Eva Galfi as director and have now stepped into her very big shoes. As such, I have big ambitions for fundraising this year and look forward to liaising with current and prospective sponsors, who help keep event fees down for all members. If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or know of someone who might, let's connect!
Please feel free to contact me anytime Phone: 707-849-1088 Email:

Hooking up with WIT-NC as a member and volunteer has been highly rewarding in terms of broadening my professional network and increasing my trade related knowledge. My decision to join WIT was initially based on the possibility of opening up opportunities to work in trade. International issues have always been part of my life, having grown up traveling the world, studying international trade and finance at university, and working on export compliance in the wine industry. These experiences started expanding my mind from an early age. By the age of 9 I was already a fully functioning polyglot, often serving as interpreter and currency conversion calculator to family and friends.
Subsequently, I took a first career as an interpreter and translator before moving into international policy. I am also a certified project manager and am trying out a stint as an entrepreneur. I live in the North Bay with my two children and no dog (yet). I always look forward to my trips to Palo Alto to attend WIT-NC events and feel exceptionally lucky to be a part of such a phenomenal group of trade professionals.
